With 14 acres nestled among the beautiful blue ridge mountains, MERU Campus is the largest Net Zero project in the state of Virginia and the largest Net Zero assisted living project in the U.S. This project includes a renovation of two hotel buildings, one restaurant building, and a new constructed building all located on the same parcel of land.
The development achieves Net Zero by a solar system along with a battery system. All the energy needed for the campus will be produced at the site via a 526 kW solar system and a 500 kWh battery system.
Another important benchmark for MERU is that the four-building development complies with the National Green Building Standards (NGBS) Gold Rating and Hawthorne World’s Gold Sustainability Rating.
